Most MacBook problems come down to five parts. Here's how to tell which one you're dealing with.

MacBooks are well built, but they're carried everywhere, charged daily and dropped occasionally, and a handful of parts take the abuse. These are the repairs we see most at both Tampa stores, roughly in order, and what each one involves.
A drop on the corner, a closed lid on an earbud, or a squeeze in a backpack. Sometimes the glass is visibly cracked; sometimes the screen just goes black or flickers while the Mac clearly still runs (you hear the chime, or it shows up on an external monitor). Either way the display assembly is replaced. On MacBooks we also check the display cable and the connector on the board, because a black screen isn't always the panel — you shouldn't pay for a display if the cable is the problem.
Service Recommended in the battery menu, sudden shutdowns at 20%, or a trackpad that feels raised. That last one matters: a raised trackpad usually means the battery is swelling, and a swelling battery should be replaced promptly, not charged and hoped for. MacBook batteries are glued into the bottom case, so this is bench work, but it's one of the best value repairs there is. Batteries we install carry a 90-day warranty.
MagSafe and USB-C ports wear out, and on some models the charging circuit on the board fails. We diagnose before quoting so you're not replacing a port when the fault is elsewhere. Bring your charger with you — a surprising number of "won't charge" MacBooks have a dead charger.
Sticky or dead keys, a trackpad that won't click, or the classic coffee spill. Liquid is the urgent one: power it off, don't charge it, and bring it in the same day if you can. We open it up, clean the board, and tell you honestly what survived. Data recovery is part of that conversation.
Not every problem is hardware. A Mac that's slow or won't start can be a full drive, a failing SSD, or a software fault. We run a free diagnostic, and if it's software, that's what we fix.
Walk into either store — 1505 E Fowler Ave near USF or 4810 E Busch Blvd Suite A — or send an instant quote with your model. We diagnose for free and give you a firm quote before doing anything. Most MacBook repairs take 24–48 hours depending on parts, and every repair carries our 30-day warranty. We work on MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, Intel and Apple Silicon, along with Windows laptops and desktops.
